Greetings Sweethearts!

It is Grand-Overlord El Mustango!! Peace and Blessings to one and all!!! It has been far too long since anyone in Honeycreeper has written an actual “blog”. We’ve been doing mostly small status updates, which are concise and facebook/twitter friendly, and yet lacks the personal, informative touch that an actual blog post has.

It’s been so long that our website (that you’re potentially reading this on) has changed! That’s right- we have a new website!! It’s been live for a few months, but I suspect with all this social networking going on, very few people have seen it. Go! Take a look around! Leave a comment or two! Make us feel like there’s even still a value to maintaining an actual website…

This summer we decided not to tour, and instead put on a few shows of our own in the upstate area. Our production company is called “A Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy” (ganked from that oh-so-classic space opera that we all grew up on) and we’ve been psyched to play with some of our favorite local bands, as well as a couple of touring bands we think are pretty snazzy. We will continue putting on all-ages, cheap, yet super-rockin’ shows in the Albany area about once every 4 to 6 weeks. If you want to play one of these shows, please let us know.

We’ve also been working our minds numb, writing new music.

And we’ve got some new merch!! Check that shiznit out!!!

The other big news is that we’ve returned to the studio to record our second album!!! We are psyched to have master D. James Goodwin (Thursday, Murder By Death, Kiss Kiss, New London Fire, Stiffed (with Santogold), Norah Jones, etc) at the helm as Producer. We’ve got seven pretty sick songs, and plan on doing something special for you, our friends, with the release. We’re not sure how we will release it, but we do know we want as MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to hear it. We are very excited and look forward to others hearing the nonsense we’ve been working on.

Personally, we’ve all gone through a lot over the last year- Sean completed his bachelors, Mandy is practically finished with her masters (which she is determined not to have to use), and I (El Mustango) have gotten married, am having children left and right, and started my masters degree. Matt is still playing guitar for us, and officially holds the record as the guitar player who has survived the longest in Honeycreeper (now that I’ve written that, he will undoubtedly be quitting within the next few weeks). Buster the Bus is still happily driving us to every show.

So, that’s what we’ve been up to and where we’re at. We will def post a few blogs (and many pictures) while we are in the studio. Soon, we should be resuming a more normal touring schedule and we look forward to seeing all your beautiful, shining faces.

In the meantime, we thank you all for coming along for the ride and all we ask is that you SPREAD THE WORD!
